Mark & Jan Guard have enjoyed their relationship with Island Bound, their 38’ Endeavour sloop, since the spring of 2006. Previous to Island Bound, they were the proud owners of Gin & Tonic, a Beneteau First 285. Through the course of Spring, Summer, and Fall, Mark & Jan can be found on the lake almost every weekend.

Island Bound is a popular destination for Mark & Jan’s family. Most weekends find any combination of Mark & Jan’s children, Mark’s parents, any of a number of Jan’s sisters, cousins, etc. on board. Summer of 2008 looks to be a busy season for Mark & Jan as both of their kids have weddings planned. Mitchel, their youngest, will marry Lacy Jennings this Memorial Day weekend and Erin, their oldest, will marry Brian Ulrich this Labor Day weekend. There are only a few things that will keep the Guards off the lake during a Summer weekend but these occasions certainly qualify!

When not at play on the lake, Mark is an electrical engineering supervisor at Electric Energy Inc., a coal fired power plant located just across the river in Southern Illinois and Jan is just beginning a new career at Four Rivers Harley Davidson in Paducah, Kentucky.
