             OUR BOATS

Email a picture of your boat
for our Pier 4 web show.

No invitation required: If you see a gathering along Pier 4 any given Friday or Saturday evening, it means Happy Hour is in full swing. Bring your drinks, bring your chairs, and, if you have something to share, bring an appetizer. Having a laugh and sharing good conversation is mandatory.

Is your phone number and email address on our dock list?
The storm this past weekend shows why we all need our phone numbers and email addresses listed on the Pier 4 dock list. We called or emailed everyone whose information we had by Monday morning. If we do not yet have your contact information, please send it to Vickie@PapyrusCreations.com.

2009 Countdown to Sailing Season

I think the majority of us agree that last year was way too short season and one filled with way too many other responsibilities that took us away from Pier 4 and sailing. The Spring Flood of 2008 didn't help either. But now it is our 2009 countdown to Spring. Before the first of March, we will try and set a "first" Friday night Happy Hour. Then we will all look forward to long weekends and great sailing days.

Congrats to our New Yacht Club
Commodore - Pier 4 Sailor Mark Sunderman

Traveling CompanionsAfter Thanksgiving, we (Vickie and Rick) were surprised when we returned to the Ellen Ann at Turner's Marina in Mobile Bay. Sitting across from us, just like at GTB Pier 4, was the Hilda Rose. We soon found Joe and Mary Ann. We knew the Hilda Rose was headed south a few days after our late October departure, but had not expected to meet up. Our two boats, along with another sailboat Joe and Mary Ann had traveled down the Tom Bigbee with, headed along the Florida Panhandle for the next few days.

This picture above of Hilda Rose (in the foreground) was taken from the Ellen Ann the evening our boats were anchored in Ingram Bayou, about 20 miles west of Pensacola Bay.

Got some news. Click here to send tidbits, updates, and pictures for our web site.

What's happening:

The fun begins at Happy Hour. Most Friday or Saturday nights you will find a gathering at the end of the pier near Queen Ann. Join in - bring an appetizer to share and your own drinks and chairs.

Get to know your dock mates - Write a small web article about your sailing interests, family, career, whatever, include pictures. We will post it on the Dock Mates page. Email your information and pictures to Vickie. For an example, click the Dock Mates button at left, then click on the Ellen Ann, Slip 36.

Latest Dock List - Download a pdf of the latest contact list for your dock mates by clicking the Dock List button. If you cannot view the file, go to Adobe.com to download the free viewer. To add your information or correct an error on the list, email Vickie.

Call for Pictures - Send me your sailing pictures for our library. Email pics of your boat at sail, in dock, at anchorage, racing, in foreign (not GTB) places, with happy people on board. In addition to building a library of boat pictures, I want to include a slide show of our boats on this page.
